What we welcome

Pitch a clear explainer, comparison, history or considered account about making, showing or sharing films in a local context. Strong proposals have a specific reader question, a distinct angle and a reason the subject matters beyond one film or event.

Make the case

Tell us the proposed subject, the main idea, who the piece is for and how you would support factual claims. Explain what makes your approach different from a general review or event announcement. Keep the proposal focused enough that its central point is easy to assess.

Before you send

We value precise language, fair treatment of differing views and a clear line between observation and fact. Do not include confidential material or claim access, expertise or evidence you cannot substantiate. If a proposal concerns a partner or paid placement, say so.
