Editorial policy
Local Film Culture aims to be clear about what we know, what we are interpreting and what needs correction. Our coverage should help readers think carefully about local filmmaking and film culture, not ask them to take a confident tone as proof.
Accuracy and context
We check factual statements against information available to us and distinguish established details from interpretation or opinion. We avoid presenting a single film, event or account as a complete picture of a place. When a claim cannot be stated responsibly, we narrow it or leave it out.
Independence
Editorial choices are made for their relevance to readers, not because a subject has offered a benefit. We do not promise favourable coverage in exchange for access, payment or a partnership. Where a relationship could affect how a contribution is read, we explain it.
Corrections
If you spot an error, contact us through the Contact page and identify the article and the detail in question. We review correction requests and, when a factual error is confirmed, amend the wording and make the correction clear in context.
Partner material and illustrations
Paid placements and other partner material are labelled so readers can distinguish them from editorial coverage. A partnership does not guarantee editorial approval or a particular conclusion. Some illustrations may be AI-generated; where used, they are identified as such.
